Trees, Hippies, Retirement...

Did I peak your interest with the attention getting title? Ahh...maybe so. Well we have continued our DIY adventures here at Echo Bend by cutting down a rotten apple tree in the backyard. It was quite a feat, requiring assistance from our Flora friends, Ty and Kelsey. It seems as if Ty should always pack his chainsaw when visiting these here parts of Johnson County, for we always seem to have a tree that needs to be "taken care of."

A View from the Cherry...err...Apple Tree (does anyone get that reference? a book from elementary school?)

And now the tree is on the ground...good job, Ty!

And now Russ gets in on the action...don't worry, he is only cutting a notch into this side of the tree. He actually cut it down from the other side.

Tree down! Bye bye tree...hello neighbors? :-)

So after cutting down the tree, it was time to get back in touch with the earth for HIPPIE DAY at CPMS!

I looked at this day as a chance to wear my Hannah Montana wig one more time...can you find me? It's like Where's Waldo, the sixties version.

And finally we celebrated a fellow English teacher's retirement at Vito's...yummy!

The English department...minus a few.
